Rainy Day Records is the longest-running independent record store in Western Washington, founded in 1973. We're the largest retailer of CDs and vinyl in Olympia.
We carry all forms of popular music — rock, pop, jazz, blues, soul/R&B, hip hop, electronic, country, folk, classical, international/world — as well as a varied selection of 60’s & 70’s psyche/‘out-there’ sounds, classic reissues, compilations, and box sets, on both CD and LP.
We can order almost anything that we don’t have in-store, for no additional cost.
Our store regularly stocks a wide variety of new LP releases, classic reissues, obscure gems from the 60’s through the 90’s, and international music. We have one of the biggest selections of reggae vinyl in the Northwest, and regularly stock classic rocksteady, dub, ska, roots, and dancehall.
We buy used LPs -- check out our
used buying policies for details.
We stock headphones in both over-ear and earbud styles, by Sony, Panasonic, Sennheiser, and Grado. For vinyl lovers, we stock portable, DJ, home-use, and USB turntables, needles and cartridges by Shure and Grado, record cleaning kits, slipmats, and LP sleeves.
We also sell refurbished, used turntables and stereo equipment.
We carry a selection of skateboard decks, bearings, wheels, grip tape, and hardware to keep you riding.
We'd also be happy to build you a deck to your specifications.
If you’re in need of a good film, visit
our video section. We specialize in DVD rentals, and keep a small selection of films for purchase.
